Is Anyone Curious?

from Jeff

What would make non-believers curious about what God is doing in our lives?

One of the lasting memories I will have of India is the fact that God is leading Hindus to ask for Christian prayer. We saw this on 2 occasions, but it is happening more and more.

One afternoon Stephen gave us a tour of his old stomping grounds, where he went to college, etc. We made a stop for a snack. Little did Stephen know that an old college roomie owned the place. The man told Stephen how glad he was to see him and said that he had recently asked people where Stephen was and how he was doing.

Our visit turned into a God story. During the conversation with Stephen the man began to share some personal struggles he was having. He then said that he would like to come by the church for prayer. He had heard that God was answering the prayers of Christians. Keep in mind that this man is a Hindu and had a few gods lined up behind his hotel counter.

Stephen told him to come by the next Sunday for prayer. When we got in the car, Stephen was overjoyed saying that this was a miracle of God. First, his friend is high caste - which means he would never normally step foot in the church. Second, Stephen has been praying for years that this man would seek to know God.

This was the first case of a non-believer being curious about what God is doing among Christians.

The next came on Sunday afternoon as we went from house to house praying for people. A Hindu woman next door heard that we were there praying and asked if Stephen would pray for her injured leg.

Neither of these people was asking to come to Jesus. They simply believed that Christian prayers were answered, and obviously their gods were not responding.

I left these moments wondering if anyone in Dunwoody is curious about what God is doing among us? What have they heard? If they heard that God was answering prayers and performing miracles, would that make them curious? Or, do they simply look in and see nothing out of the ordinary, or at least nothing they have not seen before. What would make people curious about our Christian lives?
